Summary

In 1844 a hoard of Bronze Age metalwork was discovered during the digging of a ditch. It included more than twenty-two objects, including at least ten socketed axes, two winged axes, one spearhead, one palstave, one hammer, two chisels and five gouges. In 1994 further Bronze Age metalwork was recovered 200m to the north of the hoard and is recorded under NHER 30939 and NHER 30940.

A further Bronze Age spearhead and spearhead fragment have been recovered 200m to the north in 1994, and may be associated with this hoard. They are recorded under NHER 30939 and NHER 30940 respecitively.
