Summary

A Mesolithic flint tranchet axehead was found at this location in 1960. Metal-detecting in 2017 and 2020 recovered a post-medieval coin; post-medieval tokens and a number of other medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include medieval harness pendants and a mirror case fragment and post-medieval sword-belt mounts, buckles, a pipe tamper, lead cloth seal and lead weight.

Found 900 ft [274m] south of The Grove, Great Plumstead:
1 Mesolithic chipped flint axe, tranchet type. Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1960.388). Information from (S1). This discovery was first reported in (S2) and is also listed in (S3). It was later examined by R. Jacobi and is described in detail in (S4).
