Summary

A complete Beaker period pot was found and broken into fragments by workmen who were digging the sewerage system for new houses at Hillside in 1960.

Mid September 1960. Stray Find.
Found in side of trench dug for drain for new housing site at 5 foot [1.54m] from surface in clean sand:
Complete Bell Beaker. Four zones of horizontal comb decoration.
Investigated by [1].
Broken by workmen, a few fragments rescued and donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1960.395).
Information from (S1). This discovery was report in (S2) and was also the subject of a short note in the local press (S3). The Beaker sherds are amongst those subsequently listed in (S4).
