Summary

Three Neolithic flint axes and a possible Iron Age cremation contained within a complete pot were found in Middleton Gardens. The cremation and pot were destroyed by bombing during World War Two.

Neolithic polished flint axe of yellowish flint? Surface all rubbed looks like may be coloured plaster cast but probably flint.
Neolithic grey flint axe chipped unpolished.
Neolithic grey flint axe rubbed all over.

Around 1932. Gorleston, opposite church between Middleton Road and Pound Lane (Middleton Gardens).
Iron Age pot 14.6cm (5 3/4 inches) high, 17.1cm (6 3/4 inches) diameter at mouth containing quantity of bones ?human. Fabric soft - imperfectly fired - exterior coated ferrous oxide. Polished by hand rubbing.
