Vineyard on Bath Hills north side of river. 'The Earls Vineyard'. 13th century. See (S1).
R.R. Clarke (NCM).

One may query the accuracy of reference (S1) as a large vineyard was established here in the 18th century, suggesting confusion; unless the 18th century planters knew of the earlier vineyard and profited by the knowledge see (S2).
E.Rose 24 November 1993.
