A cropmark of a ring ditch has previously been recorded at this location (TM 3429 9321). In the past there has been considerable confusion over the location of the ring ditch cropmarks in this area. Where the same cropmark has been seen in different years, this has led to some duplication of HER records. No ring ditch cropmark is present at this exact location on any of the aerial photographs held at the Norfolk Air Photo Library. It is likely that it has been incorrectly located and that it is the same cropmark as one of two ring ditches located further to the southwest (NHER 17276 and NHER 11587). All of the aerial photograph references attached to this site show both of these ring ditches. Although it is impossible to be certain to which of the two ring ditch cropmarks this record refers, it is more likely that it is NHER 11587 and that NHER 10626 is a duplication of NHER 17276. Consequently this NHER record is a duplication of either NHER 17276 or NHER 11587 and is redundant.
J. Albone (NMP), 07 July 2006.
