Summary

In 1955 a worked piece of red deer bone was found on Holme next the Sea beach. It may have been deliberately made into a tool and is probably Mesolithic or Neolithic.

1955. Stray Find
Tool of metatarsal of red deer picked up at 'The Firs' beach embedded in lump of peat washed up by the sea. It is unclear whether this is merely utilised bone or a deliberate tool. Probably Mesolithic or Neolithic. Now held by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1955.81). Information via R.R. Clarke (NCM), 1955. Details from (S1).
