Map

Medieval house threatened with demolition (surrounding area already gone).
S. Dunmore (NAU), April 1974.

November 1977.
House restored; only area to rear rebuilt. No outward trace of medieval work except perhaps the irregular nature of the façade, which is Georgian, brown brick, seven bays and two storeys; the second, fourth and sixth bays project. Gable on central projection. Stone string course. This unusually irregular façade for a house of this date could indeed indicate an older interior.
E. Rose (NAU).

However 1993 revised listing, see (S1), states that building has 16th century origins but was completely rebuilt about 1830, though ashlar blocks are noted at rear. Public house of 1830 with serving hatch and panelling remains.
E. Rose (NLA), 11 March 1999
