Full Description
Possible moat, area described as Upper Vaunce's Farm.
E. Rose (NAU).
Moat described by OS map, although no record of a field visit. An L-shaped pond may represent east and north arms of a moat. A largish pond to the west may be a fragment of the west arm, whilst a shallow depression south of the 16th century farmhouse may represent remains of south arm.
Compiled by M. D. Leah (NAU), 7 January 1991.
February 2000. Site visit.
L-shaped pond, possible remains of moat filled in 10 years ago. Pond to west dredged.
H. Paterson, 11 April 2000.
