Full Description
Hillfort recorded in 18th-19th century, now destroyed. Site of windmill.
Before 1780. Roman coins found.
1858. Roman sherd found.
1944. Roman coins found.
1950. Roman coins found.
1952. Roman coins found.
1956. Roman coins found.
1957. Roman metalwork found.
1962. Roman sherds, quern found.
1974. Rediscovery of site by aerial photography. Excavation showed fort to be sub-Roman (S1).
1976. Observation of commercial excavations.
1982. Roman tile found.
1986-90. Found with metal detector. Iron Age coin, Roman and medieval metalwork.
1988-89. Roman coins, brooches, thimble, statuette (S2), rings and medieval metalwork.
1990-91. Metal detector finds. Roman and medieval metalwork.
1991-92. Metal detecting. Roman coins.
1994-96. Metal detector finds. Roman, medieval and post medieval coins. Roman metal finds.

Possible Romano-British toilet implement found in 2002-03 (see sheet 8 in secondary file), reidentified by member of the public [1] as a 5th century Continental proto girdle hanger or latch lifter, similar to that found at NHER 2024, context 689 and paralleled in (S3). See drawing (S4).
