Map

1955. Stray Find.
Found by F. Curtis in old O.S field 323 (Curtis Field 103):
1 prehistoric flint adze (Coll. No. 386).
Seen by F. Healy and listed in (S1) as a ?Neolithic adze made on a flake. Examined by R. Jacobi and described in (S2) as a potentially Mesolithic tranchet adze made on a thermal flake. Although recorded by Curtis as being from his Field 103 it is noted in (S1) that the grid reference listed had been corrected twice, first to TL 6958 8914 (O.S field 51) and then to TL 6958 9114 (O.S field 284). The provenance of this object is therefore somewhat uncertain.
P. Watkins (HES), 22 September 2014.

Pre 1974.
