Summary

During 1975-77 a ring ditch was identified at the centre of Shepherd’s Hill. A 1983 map also marks two ‘barrows’ within the area of this large ring ditch. Investigations of the site recovered a single prehistoric flint scraper and retouched flake near to the barrows. More recent aerial photographs show two conjoining ring ditches which would correspond to the two Ordnance Survey barrows.
