Summary

Multi-period field boundaries, trackways and a possible enclosure are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Several of the field boundaries are of known or probable post medieval date. Other elements, including a trackway and a possible rectilinear enclosure, appear to be earlier. These could relate to Roman or medieval activity in the area. Finds dating to many different periods have been recovered from the area (NHER 39717 and 39984 for example).

Multi-period field boundaries, trackways and a possible enclosure, partly described above, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S2-S4). Several of the field boundaries are of known or probable post medieval date, including some which are depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S5) and the Tithe map (S6) and have not been transcribed. Other elements, including a curvilinear trackway and a possible rectilinear enclosure, located towards the northeastern corner of the site, appear to be earlier. These could relate to Roman or medieval activity in the area. Finds dating to many different periods have been recovered from the area (NHER 39717 and 39984 for example).
