Summary

A 17th-century brick and flint house with an 18th-century brick façade and later alterations. It is two storeys high with dormer windows and has five window bays. There is a shaped gable above the doorway in the central bay, under which is a sundial.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Early 18th or 17th century, flint and brick. Pantile roof of steep pitch, two gabled dormers. Two storey and attics. Formerly an inn. First floor band. Five flush frame sash windows, with glazing bars, at first floor. Moulded brick eaves cornice. Plinth. Flank pilasters. Two storey, one window wing, left.
Interior: considerably modernised. Illustrated in (S1)."

Brick, five bays, two storeys and dormers, with a shaped gable above the doorway in the central bay. Under the window in this is a sun dial. Chequered brickwork.
Traces of smaller blocked windows in façade; probably the original 17th century ones, the present windows being 18th century, and the usual two small blocked windows in end gable. Good condition.

Listed (and now recorded) separately are ancillary buildings including an 18th century former barn and smaller adjoining outbuilding (NHER 64653), and length of walls about 1.8m (6 feet) high with rounded cope (NHER 64654).
