Map

Before June 1971. Casual discovery.
Excavation around pile caps produced a small quantity of material including a Grimston face-mask and detached tubular spout, a Yorkshire face-mask and East Midlands sherd, and sherds of two Southwest French jugs and a Langerwehe jug rim.
From one of two partly exposed pits came Langerwehe-type stoneware associated with Grimston jug and cooking pot fragments, and from the other a small group of 16th/17th century Late Grimston and red wares.
