Map

1975. Field on edge of floodplain of Blackwater, normally meadow.
A concentration of 13th to 14th century pottery was observed in the southwest corner of the field.
Flecks of burnt and unburnt chalky clay were present in the ploughsoil, and indeterminate irregularities in the surface suggest former existence of some sort of earthworks. A fragment of a lava quern and flint were also found.
