Summary

These earthworks are of five upstanding circular banks of unknown function. They have been recorded by aerial photography, which also noted a curving line to the east which may represent an oval enclosure.

1972. Ordnance Survey aerial photograph.
Cropmarks of five ring ditches, large, ranging in diameter from around 30m to around 70m. To east a curving line, perhaps part of oval enclosure.
Photograph seen by A. Gregory (NAU) February 1977. [1].
Ordnance Survey Inspectors say these in fact are upstanding circular banks of unknown function.

Not a searchlight station according to farmer - May 1977.

1981. NAU aerial photograph.
Shows only one large negative cropmark indicating possible circular bank, cut by a ditch.
A. Lawson (NAU) however has visited the field and says the others do survive as Ordance Survey state.

Earthworks survive as described above in very wet pasture. Many clumps of 'reedy' grass. Grazed by cattle in summer months.
