Summary

A dump of sandstone millstones were found at a depth of 0.6m to 0.0m during building work on Stonegate Street. They were found alongside some sherds of medieval pottery.

Before June 1971. Casual discovery.
Dump of sandstone millstones seen at a depth of 0.6m to 0.9m (2 to 3 ft) during building work. Fragments of these recovered with sherds of Grimston jug which came from the soil surrounding them, but had disappeared when looked for in 1974.
