Location

Map sheet TG24SW
Civil Parish CROMER, NORTH NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

Site of battery erected in 1747.
See (S1).

(S2) states that there was a battery west of the town (site not given) founded in the American War of 1783, but that the Jetty Street battery was not built until 1804 when the original battery was enlarged.
There would seem to be some confusion in the original reference.
E. Rose (NLA) 5 November 1998.
