Full Description
1950. In Broom's Close.
Brick tunnel discovered: a possible brick kiln.
See (S1).
This name is unknown even to the oldest inhabitants, but informant is sure it is a mistake for Bradmere Close (at grid reference) where brick kilns have been known to appear in the past.
2008.
Broom's Close is said to be a field name at TF 773 354, where the top of a tunnel was ploughed off. See NHER 51644.
But according to local sources (S2), a brick tunnel is also known to exist at this location.
D. Gurney (NLA) 08 July 2008.
