Summary

Three copper alloy coins and 'half a barrow load of old leather with iron buckles' were recovered in this area during the construction of a soakaway in 1972. Although the leather has since perished, it is believed to have dated to the Roman period.

Around 1972. Found in digging soakaway 6ft (1.8m) deep into sandy soil, east of wind pump. [1]
Three bronze coins and 'half a barrow load of old leather with iron buckles.'
Leather rotted away.
Coins given away, only one remaining in finder's posession.
