Summary

A mass of red brick was seen in the edge of a dyke after it had been recut in 1977. This has been interpreted as the remains of a bridge providing access to the 18th century house of Sir John Turner.

Seen in north bank of dyke after recutting, by A. Gregory (NAU).
Mass of red brick, approximately 2m below surface, east end cut away by west bank of River Stiffkey; extends 3m to west. Bricks of modern size but not frogged. Some bricks mortared, but not mortared together.
