'On hill between town and Royston Bridge'. Site of gibbet.
Used in 1797 for displaying body of William Suffolk after he had been hanged at Norwich.
The post was later cut up and used in building cottages at Knapton.
Information from (S1).

(S2) states that it stood by Gibbett Loke, which led from Hamlet House (TG 2871 3100) to Melbourn House; and that a beam was preserved at Royston House until given away to 'a distant museum'.
