Summary

The site of a Bronze Age disc or pond barrow, marked on a mid 19th century map. Attempts to locate the barrow in recent years have not been successful, and it may have been destroyed by military trenches.

Disc or pond barrow marked, and drawn in margin, of map (S1).
Noted as 'very faintly marked' and 23m (25 yards) in diameter.

Not located, perhaps destroyed.

Not located in 1983, May 1986 or June 1986 despite heath fire at latter date.
Ground hummocky with one dugout and some old irregular trenches probably military activity.

NGR obtained by GPS and corrected from original TG 0729 4201.
There is a hint of a slight rise in an area of burnt birch trees and gorse, but nothing convincing.
