Summary

The site of My Lady's Cottage, built between the late 18th and the early 19th century, shown in a print by J. A. Repton. The house was destroyed by a falling tree in the 1970s.

Map

(S1) shows a building with Y tracery windows, surrounded by fountains, statues etc, but cottage as built about 1830 was different. Destroyed by tree falling 1970s.
Foundations survive indicating one room and two small closets. Named from Lady Suffield.
Decorative details in National Trust store.

However (S2) gives a very different account, saying it was built in 1760 and named after Lady Buckingham. The fountain in the print is from Oxnead Hall (NHER 3552) and is now in the Hall gardens.
