Summary

The site of a castle built by William Belet in the third year of the reign of Edward I was formerly unknown. It has now been identified as Hills and Holes Plantation (NHER 11462).

[2] notes - licence to crenellate 1271, not 1274, as above. Held to be an injurious fortification 1277; as Beletes in Marham alienated to Marham Nunnery 1385 to 1389.
