Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting between 1978 and 1992 recovered Neolithic, Iron Age, Roman, Saxon and medieval pottery fragments. Also found were a Bronze Age awl and rapier fragment.

March 1978. On ploughed surface.
3 body sherds of coarse hard hand-made pottery with many flint inclusions. Neolithic?
Also Roman mortarium sherd, rim sherd Gallo-Belgic derived platter, coarse storage jar sherd made into loomweight, plus one other.
All late 1st century?

28 February 1988. Fieldwalking.
Iron Age flint gritted sherd.
Identified by A. Gregory (NAU).

6 and 19 March 1988. Metal detecting and fieldwalking.
Bronze Age sword hilt fragment, and gritty sherds Bronze Age-Iron Age - 16 in all - probably Iron Age (A. Gregory, NCM). Also one Iron Age or Neolithic.
Thetford type and St Neots ware.
Early medieval wares and rim and handle of iron cauldron.
Also a small bronze ring, undated.
Plus Roman 1st-2nd century sherds and late shell-gritted.
Identified by A. Gregory (NAU).
