Summary

A long Upper Palaeolithic flint blade was discovered on a ploughed surface here in 1978. It has been suggested that this blade may be Early Upper Palaeolithic.

Full Description

March 1978. Stray Find.
Found on ploughed surface:
1 Upper Palaeolithic fine flint blade, 130mm long, 42mm maximum width. Donated to the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1983.333 : A). See drawing (S1).
Originally identified as Mesolithic, but re-examined by J. J. Wymer (NAU) in September 1983 and considered, on grounds of typology and condition, to be Upper Palaeolithic.
Information from (S2). This blade was subsequently examined by R. Jacobi and is described in (S3) as potentially Early Upper Palaeolithic.
