Full Description
Reference in (S1) to an 'image' here which he thought might have been Roman. Any chance this could be the medieval wodewose now above the church porch, though vicar say this probably is a tower pinnacle?

Further references (S2) state that the figure was found 'among the ashes', which suggests the pottery production site.
An involved account, not easy to follow, suggests that the figure was plastered up above a false ceiling in a cottage.
