Summary

In 1978 an Iron Age Coritanian coin was recovered from a rabbit scrape on Weeting Heath. It was identified as a base metal core for a gold plated forgery, and it was thought to have been produced at the same time as the legitimate coin it copied. A medieval iron arrowhead with prominent barbs was also recovered.

1978. Found in rabbit scrape on Weeting Heath.
Coritanian coin, ESVP ASV type; obverse illegible, reverse very clear. Actually base metal core for gold plated forgery, but contemporary with original. Weight 4.396gms, S.G. 7.73.
