Map

Brickworks.
Two Scotch kilns remain, south one with three stokeholes, and stairs to top (comapre with Holkham), good condition; north with six stokeholes, ruinous.
Map of 1880 shows a third kiln.
Outbuildings, coal store, washpit, clay pits, Shaldors pump over well with crest of lion with shield and coronet (not crest of
Bond-Cabbells, the original owners).
Produced bricks for building of suburbs from 1880s.
Now being made into ornamental garden by owner.

The site has been extended and therefore the central grid reference has been altered from TG 2185 4115 to TG 2186 4117.

The site of a post medieval brickworks, with two remaining Scotch kilns associated outbuildings, coal store, washpit and clay pits. The site has extending to include additional buildings and clay pits marked on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition map (1902-7, 25") (S2). The site is now centred on TG 2186 4117. Elements of this site are visible on aerial photographs (S3), however these were not mapped as part of the NMP project. Reference to the Ordnance Survey First edition map (1879-86, 6") (S4) and Second edition map (1902-7, 25") (S2) provides superior detail of the site than that visible on the aerial photographs.
