Summary

This is the site of a 19th century brickworks shown on an Ordnance Survey map of 1883. The remains of the brickworks were found in 1978 during the construction of a new house.

Map

Remains of brickworks discovered in building modern house 'Warren Hill'.
Filled in again and levelled as pasture.
According to owner of Station Farm clay was dug at Brick-Kiln Grove (063 042).

(S1) shows full extent of works including a kiln and a gravel pit. No clay pit is marked as such but the above-mentioned Brick Kiln Grove is shown simply as a wood and clearly was not in use as a pit in 1883.
