Summary

A saddle quern of unknown date was found near Field Barn, during ploughing in 1955. Metal-detecting in 2010 and 2015 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval/ post-medieval jetton and Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman mount in the shape of a dolphin and a brooch; a possibly Middle Saxon prick spur; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness mount and copper alloy finger ring and a medieval/post-medieval coin weight.

Found 0.25 miles southwest of Field Barn. [1].
Saddle quern found while ploughing at a depth of 35cm (14"), no trace of occupation on site.
Material: apparently a hard limestone containing shells.
