Summary

Two ditches and an inhumation of unknown date were found in 1961 during the construction of a new road. Only the skull of the burial survived.

1961. 244m (803') from south boundary of water tower grounds, in constructing new road (A149) at east side Redgate Hill.
Inhumation burial (skull only survived) found in north of 2 ditches running east to west at slight slant across line of main road, and cut into chalk.
C.P. Wells to have reported on skull.
Ditches were about 54m (60 paces) apart.
No dateable finds, but ditch at this point was sealed by bank of former main road.
