Summary

Before 1671 the Recorder of Lynn noted that at a place called 'Wathden or Waterden' the possible remains of a church were noted, along with human remains, at the bank of the river. The location has been lost, particularly as the course of the river may have changed since that time.

'Wathden or Waterden'. Remains of church?
'At a place called Wathden or Waterden in this parish, Serjeant Godard observes there was to be seen in his time some remains of a church, also bones that appear at a low ebb upon the river side'. See (S1).

No such name on tithe maps. Quite possibly lost in altering the course of the Ouse.

Godard was Recorder of Lynn and died in 1671. Blomefield is quoting Armstrong or Dugdale.
