Full Description
Reused Mat (Helter Skelter).
Visited E. Rose 24 May 1979.
Bungalow made from The 'Mat' (a helter skelter) which formerly stood on front at Great Yarmouth, brought here 1928. Tapering tower with bowler-hat-shaped cap. Other extensions added. Only known Mat to survive.

See newspaper cutting in file.
The 'bowler hat' is a later addition; the original top section now stands at the rear used as a shed. The structure is said to have been moved here from the Britannia Pier Great Yarmouth in 1914 after Suffragettes set fire to it.
