Summary

Three concentrations of Neolithic worked flints and two pieces of Roman pottery have been recovered from the surface of this field. The flints included blades, scrapers, cores, picks and an axe.

May 1979. On surface of field south of Cobbs Hills.
Three concentrations of Neolithic flint and Roman sherd.
The concentrations are at 1401 1218 (numbered Context 1 by NCM), 1411 1212 (Context 2) and 1420 1216 (Context 3).
Context 1.
Contained two cores, three scrapers, one blade fragment and six flakes.
Context 2.
Eight flakes, six side scrapers, three tortoise scrapers, twelve end scrapers, two picks, one thick heavy axe with very worn and hammered cutting edge, two cores.
Context 3.
Six scrapers, one core, twenty two flakes, five blade fragments.
Sherd is rim sherd of grey ware, location in field not given.
