Summary

Two prehistoric hearths and a number of burnt flint of prehistoric date, as well as medieval pottery found by metal detecting in 1979.

Map

February to March 1979. Along line marked out for Aylsham bypass. Found on surface of ploughed field.
23 pot boilers and 2 sherds unglazed medieval pottery.

See NHER 37968 for Bacton to King's Lynn Transco pipeline, plot number 62, where a scatter of forty-three burnt flint was found by fieldwalking survey. The scatter could represent the remains of a burnt mound and correspond to this site previously found on the line of the A140.
