Summary

During fieldwalking and metal detecting in advance of the Aylsham bypass prehistoric flints, fragments of medieval and post medieval pottery and a half groat Henry VIII were found at this spot.

February to March 1979. Along south edge of field on line marked out for Aylsham bypass.
Found on surface of ploughed field and with metal detector.
Ten pot boilers.
Two flint blades.
One sherd unglazed medieval pottery.
Silver 3d of Henry VIII.
Four sherds 17th-19th century stoneware.
Found by Norfolk and Suffolk Metal Detecting Society.
