Full Description
Site of windmill.
Marked on (S1).
E. Rose (NAU), 25 September 1979.
This was Black Mill or Moulton Mill, said in the late 19th century to be the oldest in Norfolk.
Information from (S2) and [1].
A post mill mentioned as a 'well accustomed windmill' in 1755. Last used 1904. Burnt down in 1930.
Information from [2].
E. Rose (NAU), 23 March 1982.
Despite last statement, the mill is not shown on (S3). The detail on (S4) is not clear enough to locate the mill. The Mill House is in the northwest of the area marked, and the plan of the curtilage as shown on (S3) may suggest the mill was to the northwest of the house.
E. Rose (NLA), 7 April 1995.
