Listing Description excerpt:
"Farmhouse of three builds. Late 17th-century east-west wing, remodelled [in] 18th century and 19th century. North-south wing added 1736 and western extension 1851. Brick with occasional burnt headers. Pantiled roof, black glazed to southern roof slopes. East-west wing formerly of one storey and dormer attic, raised to two storeys in 18th century. Central 20th-century porch with concave pediment...Dentil eaves cornice below gabled roof. Western ridge stack and internal end stack at west gable...North-south cross wing dated 1736 on south gable. Two storeys and dormer attic, the wing terminating in Dutch gables to north and south. Platband at eaves line. Further platband at first floor to front and rear. East elevation has 20th-century lean-to outbuilding...Gabled roof has one gabled dormer. Internal south gable end stack...Two-storey 19th-century block to west of one window bay...Dutch gable to west. Gabled roof."

T-shaped building; the original part is now the wing at right angles to road; shaped gable in chequered brickwork with clampirons "RG". Two blocked windows on upper floor on east side. String course. West side of this wing, and adjoining range, are all 19th cent.

Building of several periods. Fine crosswing with Dutch gables dated 1736. East wing said to be early 17th century but externally post 1780. West wing 1851. 18th- and 19th-century outbuildings.

Survey by E. Rose (NLA).
This more detailed examination of the building produced evidence that it began as a single-storey timber-framed house with 17th-century firegables, to which the crosswing was added in 1736. The older building was then replaced in brick around 1770, and given an upper storey in the 19th century.
