Summary

It is recorded that before 1932 some Norman period (early medieval) masonry was recovered from this area. This may represent the remains of St Thomas' chapel, but this is uncertain and no further information on the site has been recovered.

Norman masonry excavated around 400yds (366m) east of Park and 100yds (91m) east of St Thomas Lane found before 1932.

It should be noted that another possible site of St Thomas' Chapel has been identified approximately 230m to the south-west of this location, where a chalk and carrstone wall has been observed in the side of a pond (NHER 25922).
