Summary

A Neolithic part-polished flint axehead was ploughed up at this location in 1979. Metal-detecting between 2017 and 2020 recovered a Mesolithic flint blade core; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; a medieval/post-medieval roof tile; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, a medieval jetton; a post-medieval token; undated copper alloy casting waste and a range of other, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch and probable furniture knob; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval horse-harness pendant and copper alloy unidentified object; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a tap fragment; a post-medieval furniture escutcheon, sword-belt fitting, lead weight, lead bridle boss and lead cloth seal and a post-medieval/modern silver sheet object (possibly an unfinished thimble).
