15 April 1891.
Post medieval pottery.
[1] exhibited (some bones from Broom Hill, a supposed Roman encampment near the church at Horning see NHER 14009) also a portion of a double handled mug, of brown earthenware (around 1600?) from Horning.
See (S1).

Note. A cutting in (S1) confuses this entry. It mixes up the finds from Broom Hills (which it calls 'ashes') with the mug and implies they both came from the same place. It states the mug had two handles on one side and held 2 1/2 pints,
and was exhibited by [2]. An Elizabethan date was suggested for it by [3].
E. Rose (NAU), 22 November 1979.
