Full Description
1976 Ordnance Survey air photograph. [1].
Cropmarks.
Possible enclosure, double ditched, approximately 120m by 115m overall, together with other linear features which may represent drainage to or from former pits in field.
Site identified by Kings Lynn Office of Ordnance Survey, reported by [2] and photography inspected by D. Edwards.

Bronze tweezers, widely expanded grips with tips incurved. Faces decorated with design of punched dots.
Compare Whitby Monastery type IV and Sedgeford (14367).

At Context 1, virtually same spot as Middle Saxon tweezers (see above).
Fragment of small long brooch, bronze; remains from just below bow to just beyond the eye bumps.
Part of corroded catchplate behind.
Fragment 3cm length.
Identified by E. James (KLM), 14 September 1984.
June 1993. Context 2. Strip about 30m wide along south edge of field under well-grown potatoes, i.e. not very good conditions.
One jar rim and four bodysherds Roman greyware.
One possible jar rim and fourteen bodysherds sandy and organic tempered sherds Early Saxon.
Four bodysherds pimply, three bodysherds and one base sherd sandy Ipswich ware.
Ten jar rims, three sagging bases, thirty seven bodysherds (including one with thumbed strip) Thetford-type.
One possible jar rim, one inturned bowl rim, one bodysherd St.Neots.
One base unglazed Stamford.
Two rim fragments (?jar) and seventy five bodysherd/bases medieval unglazed, predominantly early medieval.
Seventeen glazed Grimston.
