Map

May 1980. Seen in sides of dyke. 60m southeast of southeast hedge of Council Houses, northeast side of road.
Flint roadway with cambered surface, 2.5m side, 25cm thick, running roughly eastward, but not visible in dyke southwest of road. Flints lie over 30cm yellow clay-loam above chalk boulder clay, which here is 30cm higher than north and south of roadway, suggesting flint surface has preserved chalk boulder clay from weathering for a long time. Possible roadside ditches at edge of flint surface both contain post medieval brick.
Seen by A. Rogerson (NAU) April 1980 and A. Gregory (NAU) 2 May 1980.
A. Gregory (NAU) 2 May 1980.
