Summary

A possible prehistoric hearth or burial was recorded in 1916. From the same location a collection of objects including a complete Bellarmine pot were recovered. These were interpreted as being from the site of a post medieval inn.

Same site as ?prehistoric ?hearth - sherds including Bellarmines (one complete buried upside down), glass (one piece embossed with wheat sheaf), thimble, 'lady's ring', sheep bell, (all three copper), knives, scissors, small round box, nails, 17th century churchwarden pipes.
