Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 1980 and 2001 recovered Early/Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post-medieval coins and a number of other metal objects, including a Late Saxon strap end and unidentified copper alloy openwork objects and a medieval lead ampulla. It is recorded that some of these objects were found amongst the remains of flint walls.

English half groat of James I. See (S1).
Found amongst remains of flint walls all over field, together with medieval and post medieval pottery.
Lead pilgrims ampulla with crown and W on one side and crown on the other. (S2) attributes to Walsingham.

Also at same time, an Irish silver farthing, see (S3), but minted in Waterford rather than Dublin.
