Summary

During the building of a new home large numbers of round stones, possibly prehistoric burnt flints, and many sheep skulls were discovered at this site.

1960s-1970s. South side of lane opposite Martyr's Cottage. Found when building new house.
Large numbers of 'round stones' (pot boilers?) and many sheep skulls.
Information from a local drainage contractor who says owner of house refers to them as 'remains of an abbey'.
