NHER 16977 (Building record) - Former Kings Arms Public House, now Crown House, The Hill

Later known as the Crown, but not to be confused with NHER 8641. Now Crown House.
Dates from 1670.
Wallpainting discovered behind cupboard upstairs.
Stated to be in medieval style though 17th century in date.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Public House, now offices. Early 16th-century origin but altered and with additions of 19th-century. Brick, carstone and rubble, rendered to façade. Slate roof to façade, pantiled to rear. Two storeys. Two late 19th-century gabled cross wings to rear with 20th-century details. Two bridging beams of 16th-century date survive in ground floor south room…".
